Understanding the QE Barnet 11+ exam
QE Barnet publishes one entrance-test stage covering English and Mathematics in a multiple-choice format. The school does not publish its local question count or duration, so the GL figures below are labelled familiarisation observations rather than QE promises.
What QE publishes
- There is one testing round in one candidate session, with English and Mathematics papers.
- The papers are multiple choice and answers are marked electronically.
- The two subject results are age-standardised and combined by the school.
- The local question count, exact duration and option count are not published in the reviewed public material.
The current 2027 admissions guide records a combined minimum standard of for eligibility for consideration. Meeting that standard does not guarantee an offer. It is not a raw practice mark, a pass mark for a familiarisation paper, or an offer prediction.
What the GL material shows

The GL English material includes passage comprehension, spelling, punctuation and sentence completion. Its Mathematics material includes number, measurement, geometry, data and problem solving. These are useful skill families for an original course, not released QE questions or a blueprint for the live paper.
That calculation is an illustration of a GL practice pace. It does not set a QE local pace, because QE does not publish the local duration or count.
